Many people ask me what my favorite neighborhood in NYC is, and while it’s a difficult decision to make, I think most “Native” New Yorkers gravitate towards the areas they grew up. For me, it has to be Spanish Harlem. Although I was raised in Brooklyn to about age 14, Spanish Harlem has been where I’ve had the richest experiences as a teen and young adult. Diversity in culture being the biggest benefit, as I’ve rubbed elbows with so many different people, and have come to appreciate the many ways we are so much alike. If that’s not enough to get you to visit, I’m sure the amazing street art will!
